Why we built Vital Displays

Vital Displays is a FireProof company. FireProof keeps the fire-safety equipment in a building inspection-ready — the systems that simply cannot fail when they are needed. We watched the same buildings run their information screens on tools that went dark on a network hiccup, drifted out of date, and had no dependable way to push an emergency message to every wall. So we brought FireProof's discipline to the screens that inform and protect the people inside.

Mission-critical screens deserve mission-critical software

A blank lobby board is embarrassing. A screen that can't carry a lockdown, a code alert, or a severe-weather warning is a liability. Vital Displays runs on any TV with a Chrome browser, keeps showing the last good content straight through a network drop, and gives safety a one-button, building-wide takeover that is logged and auto-restoring. Emergency alerting is bundled, not sold as a premium add-on — because the moment it matters is not the moment to discover it was an upsell.

That posture maps directly onto the mandates our customers already answer to — Alyssa's Law in K-12, the Clery Act on campus, and CMS Emergency Preparedness in healthcare, where we stay deliberately PHI-free so security review clears fast.

The standard we hold

• Dependable. Offline-resilient players and auto-reconnect mean no blank screens. Playback logging tells you it's showing (signed proof-of-play is on the roadmap).
• Current. Multi-zone layouts, live web and data sources, and day/time schedules keep the right thing on the wall automatically — never a stale slide nobody remembered to change.
• Governed. Role-based access, a tamper-evident audit log, Microsoft Entra SSO, and per-organization isolation, with a PHI-free posture your review team will actually pass.

Where a capability isn't shipped yet we say so plainly. Proof-of-play, external-CAP consumption, SOC 2, and a self-host option are on the roadmap — not claimed as done.
